Smaller pets may fall a prey to these large dogs, but some dogs can be trusted with cats, rabbits and other animals. Dogs of this breed are smart by nature and quick to learn. Sometimes, 2 or 3 repetitions are enough for them to learn a new task. Training sessions should be interesting and challenging for impressive results. Drill and repetitive exercises will do nothing but harm with these intelligent dogs. Novice owners are not recommended to obtain a puppy of this breed, as it’s a challenge in terms of training.

As a matter of fact, lack of confidence under any surroundings is not typical of good personality of these dogs. This is a fearless and very obedient dog that will always protect you. The dog can also be taught to perform different tricks. All dogs that indicate shyness must be penalized and any dog exhibiting pronounced indications of these features must be excluded from the ring. The dog must be neither timid nor aggressive. When in the show ring, it should allow the judge to observe the teeth and to determine that both testicles are descended.
