Breeders German Shepherd Working
With most breeders, german shepherd working dogs are available with many photos and are not commonly found in rescues.
Only in the former East Germany, there are dogs that adhere closely to the old standard. Such dogs are larger, with broader head and darker coat. They are praised for their unique working abilities. Most of these dogs are very self-assured and independent, which poses a greater challenge in terms of training. Fanciers of the old standard preserve the unique characteristics of the line by selective breeding and try to raise it to the status of a separate breed. American and European types are smaller and more suited to the role of a family pet.

photos, rescues
The dogs have an average lifespan of 12 to 15 years. The dog can be used in different spheres of people’s life. Thus, a fine nose of the dog can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in the right time time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipe buried 15 feet underground. The dog is also a popular and family companion. Although the dog reminds a wolf, it has nothing in common with this wild animal. Thus the “Wolf Dog” tag was dropped, as this would arise prejudices about the breed.
